Vespa VX 125 Priced Higher Than Ray Z

2013 seems to be a year of scooters war. In the month of May, Yamaha bikes has launched its Ray Z and now in recent time, Piaggio bikes has launched its Vespa VX in the market. With the launch of scooters from the big competitors, it seems like raining of scooters in this monsoon season. Piaggio Vehicles Pvt. Ltd re-entered into the Indian market with this 125cc VX which is based on the previous model Vespa LX. It is plugged with new features and now available in two new colors including a bright pink and turquoise green. Well, we all know that the ray scooters were well received by the female consumers and company recorded a huge success with the selling of 70000 scooters from the ray series. Both the ray and Ray z will have similar technical specifications and features. The Yamaha Ray Z price is placed at Rs. 48,555 and looks much sporty when comparing with older version.

Piaggio Vespa VX 125 price Rs. 63, 000 is quite higher in India  and but is launched with more features. It specially dominates with the retro looking lifestyle along side with better equipment and features list. This scooter comes with a 125cc three valve engine which is capable of producing an output power of 10.06 bhp and 10.6 Nm of torque. It is mated to a CVT transmission that powers the rear wheel of the scooter. It is the most expensive scooter in its segment and packs with 200mm disc brakes with newly added MRF zapper tubeless tires. So the riders can expect improved braking performance in this new scooter. It looks unique with a monocoque full steel body construction which has been a signature feature of the Vespa.

Yamaha uses a two valve 4-stroke, SOHC engine which will be delivering a maximum power output of 7 Bhp at 7500 rpm and 8.1 Nm at 5500 rpm torque. Surely the power is really good and also offers a better mileage of 53 kmpl as per the company. It is packed with a good number of features with smoked finish visor, an aluminum black split grab rails and instrument panel with faux carbon fiber back ground. The Yamaha Ray Z will be available in white, black and red color combinations. It packs with a 130mm drum in rear and front for better braking system. It also uses a Telescopic front shock absorbers and a Dry-Centrifugal clutch. With all these features, the company attracts the female riders. Despite being priced so high, the bike will be a disappointment for many of its fans and Yamaha Ray Recalled To Replace Handlebar of 56,802 Units since it has detected insufficient strength in the handlebar.
