Lenovo A1000 has Android OS

Lenovo Mobiles, a premier and a flagship company in home personal computers and laptops, recently ventured into the mobiles and tablet segments as late as in 2011. This means that it lagged behind some other major players into this sector. Though Lenovo has tried to make it up by making forays, it has not been able to command the same presence here as in the personal computers and laptops segment. Lenovo mobiles though have continued with their efforts to make a mark and thus have recently launched the Lenovo A1000 in India. This is Lenovo’s first android based tablet lines. It earlier launched the Lenovo Ideapad Tablet Lynx K3011 and Lenovo ThinkPad Tablet 2 on windows platform in India.

The Lenovo A1000 by Lenovo Mobiles has not tried to do anything different as such. The Lenovo A1000 features encompass the same set of specifications that most tab manufactures deliver in that price range. This is a 7 inch tab which supports a resolution of 1024 X 600 pixels. The device runs on a 1.2GHz dual-core MediaTek 8317 processor and is driven on 1GB RAM. The Tab has an internal storage of 4GB but an option has been provided if the user wishes to expand the memory up to 32GB through a microSD card. Enthusiasts looking to buy Lenovo A1000 can be happy because it has already launched it in India at a Lenovo A1000 price of 8,999 INR.
The device comes with the Android 4.1 Jelly Bean pre-installed. The device has been given a 3500mAh battery to run operations. This works well with the device because it can deliver the user up to a good 7 hours of continuous web browsing experience. On being kept aside, the battery can keep the Tab alive for a good 336 hours of standby time. The Lenovo A1000 has a SIM card slot and as such allows video calling to be done. To support it, it has a 0.3- Megapixel front facing camera. For other uses (read photography) it sports a 5 megapixel rear camera on the back. The photography quality is expected to be decent, but that will only be known once the reviews are in.
