The Japanese Auto major has launched the new face-lifted version of its flagship car, the Nissan Micra and a low cost version - Nissan Micra Active. The first generation of the car was launched in the year 1982 and it was available in the Indian market three years back. This was the first of the Nissan cars to come with a made in India tag and in the three years since its launch, the vehicle has sold a notable 43000 units in the country. The manufacturing plant at Chennai is one of the four factories worldwide involved in production of this vehicle.
The current renovated version of the car comes with styling changes on the exterior and classy interiors. The Active variant of the car also comes with some changes from the outgoing model. The sporty bumper adds a nice touch and the car weights 30kg lesser than the previous model helping to maintain an impressive mileage of 19.49imply. It is available in 4 trims and the price for this model has been set between 3.50 lakhs for basic trim XE to 4.71 lakhs for the higher end XV with safety pack. Nissan Micra price is set just above the price of the Active variant and is in the range between 4.80 lakhs (basic petrol) to 7.14 lakhs(high-end diesel).
Nissan Micra pictures of the improved version show angular headlamps and an improved and bigger front grille with a dash of chrome in the V-shaped slat. Also the interior now houses classy beige coloured fabrics and a piano black centre console with modified air con vents. The overall length of the car has gone up by 45mm. The rear of the car has got LED tail lamps and a new bumper. Some of the prominent Nissan Micra features that add to its looks are bumpers in body colour, modern rear LED lamps and good dose of chrome in the front grille and in the interior. Some standard convenience and comfort features across variants are power steering with tilt, power windows and key-less entry. Not only the driver but passengers can enjoy the comfort with adjustable front and rear headrests, rear parcel tray. Nissan has offered ABS and immobiliser as standard feature in all its models. XV trims are offered with even further luxuries like push button start, climate control, 2 DIN audio with USB and more description of Nissan Sunny and Micra Fate for Nissan cars .
In addition to these features, blue-tooth, steering wheel mounted controls and rear view camera add to the convenience of the driver. Full wheel covers in the base variants and alloy wheels up the looks of the vehicle. The side and main air-bags for driver and passenger are included for safety concerns. The engine options remain the same with the petrol variant powered by the 1.2 litre engine with capabilities to produce 75PS of power and 104Nm of torque. The 1.5 litre diesel engine churns out higher torque of 160Nm and a power of 65PS. The CVT transmission that is available in combination with the high-end petrol variant promises to provide smooth shifts and a fuel efficiency of 19.34imply.
