The first position is occupied by the Maruti Alto 800 while the Swift hatch was at the second position but now Maruti Swift Dzire beat the sales of its sibling hatch to become India's second best selling vehicle. If we just take a look at the company's sales record for April 2013, we can notice that the MSIL has sold over 19,446 units of Swift Dzire compact sedans in India, which is 2916 units more than its sibling Maruti Swift. This is certainly a great achievement for the compact sedan and for the company in India.

It was first launched in the month of February last year and it has done so well that it helped the company a lot to expand its market in India. Interesting thing is that the sales of Dzire were just about 401units less than the India's best selling car Maruti Alto 800. This vehicle is perhaps the most affordable, most featured and a great looking vehicle that lured many of the Indian buyers. It is a fact that Indian customers have a soft corner in their hearts about sedans as it is a symbol of status and prestige. It would be a dream come true for car buyers of they purchase a sedan.
