Two Smartphones from Idea – Aurus ID 920 and Aurus ID 918

Idea has been known more for its tower services it provide as connectivity for voice calling and Internet access and their smartphones, on the other hand, did not receive much highlight in the market. However, that did not stop the company from launching new Android smartphones – Aurus III and Aurus ID 920, in the Indian markets. The Idea Aurus ID 920 is a successor to the Idea Aurus ID 918 and has more than a few improvements. It has a 3.5-inch screen that is HVGA backed and produces good quality results as far as color reproduction is concerned with manageable reflection angles.

The operating system, although Android, is quite inferior to the latest version available in the market. Still, Android Gingerbread would be more than useful as far as providing the user; the ultimate Android experience with lots of apps and games. The price of Idea Aurus ID 920 seems reasonable with Rs. 4,950 as the device provides both flashy and utility features. Speaking of the utility features, the Idea Aurus ID 920 has dual SIM capability with the user getting access to two numbers at the same time to make or receive calls using one SIM without sabotaging the use of another. The processor for the device is 1 GHz, while the RAM is of 256 MB, which is paltry when taken into consideration against the processor power. The internal memory is acceptable with 512 MB that should provide enough space for a decent amount of data storage whereas, the microSD card slot has the ability for further memory expansion up to 32 GB that would come in handy in case of the space running out.

The Idea Aurus ID 920 pictures are satisfactory with a 2-megapixel camera but nothing out of the ordinary, while there is no secondary camera for video calling or web chats. Other Idea Aurus ID 920 features include the 3G compatibility apart from the Wi-Fi and Bluetooth connectivity. As far as the power back is concerned, 1400 mAh standard lithium-ion battery should be good enough for generating a reasonable talk time and standby time.
The Idea Aurus ID 920 has a data offer attached to it for a limited time; the consumer gets 1 GB per month for 3 months on 3G and unlimited data for 2G for the same period. This would be available at a recharge of Rs. 261 while the user also gets the Idea TV pack, which is worth Rs. 150, free of charge for the first three months. The CMO of the company, Mr. Sashi Shankar stated that Idea mobiles have manufactured the device keeping in mind the changing needs of the Indian consumer and making 3G compatible devices more affordable in the country. Idea Aurus 2 is also a good dual sim mobile from Idea mobiles.
