Yamaha Ray Comes With 4-Stroke Engine

Yamaha is a Japanese bike maker which is present in India from last three decades. Yamaha manufactures wide range of bikes, it produces daily commuting bikes to premium high end bikes. Yamaha bikes are already ruling sports bike segment in India, Yamaha revolutionized sports segment in India by launching smaller versions of its high end super bikes at affordable prices in India. Yamaha's current top selling bikes are Yamaha YZF R 15 and Yamaha FZ 16. Yamaha is doing good in sports bikes segment but it is lagging behind in commuting segment. Commuting segment bikes sell in millions every year, so Yamaha has planned to launch commuting bikes of 100 cc but it will be facing tough combination from other brands like Bajaj and Hero Motocorp.

Yamaha has recently entered in scooter market with launch of Yamaha Ray which is a 113 cc scooter. Yamaha Ray has a refreshing new design with edgy panels and sportier looks. Yamaha Ray features a 113 cc, 4 -stroke, SOHC, 2 - valve, air cooled engine, this 113 cc engine produces peak power of 7 bhp at 7500 rpm and produces peak torque of 0.82 kgm at 5000 rpm. Ride quality of this scooter good and quite smooth, power delivery is linear and throttle response is also decent. Lower end torque of Yamaha Ray is excellent which gives it good pick up whereas mid range torque is mediocre and top end torque is satisfactory. It can easily reach speed of 75 km / hr but above this speed it struggles. Yamaha Ray is equipped with telescopic fork suspension at front and unit swing at rear whereas braking duties are performed by 130 mm drum brakes at front and rear. Fuel tank capacity of this scooter is 5 liters.

Recently Yamaha India has launched ‘Yamaha Ray Automatic Scooter’ in India. Handling of Yamaha Ray is quite good and it can be easily maneuvered in city traffic. Seat is also very comfortable but under seat capacity is less, it cannot accommodate a full face helmet. Instrument panel of this scooter is triangle shaped which is divided in two parts, upper part contains analog speedometer with trip meter in middle and lower part contains fuel meter. Yamaha Ray pictures reveal about its sporty looks and design. Yamaha Ray is available in six beautiful paint schemes of Pink, Purple, Blue, Burgundy, Grey and Black. Yamaha Ray price is Rs. 46,000, ex – showroom in Delhi, prices may vary from state to state.
