KTM is an Austrian bike maker which is known for endurance and racing bikes, Bajaj along with KTM launched Duke 200 in Indian market. KTM bikes are manufactured at Chakan manufacturing facility of Bajaj near Pune. Currently Bajaj manufactures two variants of KTM Duke 200 and KTM Duke 125, KTM Duke 125 is only for export purposes whereas KTM Duke 200 is sold in India as well as exported to other countries. Next launch from KTM and Bajaj will be a KTM Duke 390. New Duke 390 will be based on existing Duke 200.
KTM Duke 390 features a 375 CC, Single cylinder, Fuel Injected, 4 – stroke, 4 – valve, DOHC (Dual Overhead Camshaft) engine. This 375 cc power plant produces maximum power of 45 PS and will be light weight, Duke 390 will weight some where around 150 kilograms. This light weight will provide excellent power to weight ratio to Duke 390. Duke 390 will be similar to KTM Duke 200, it will feature similar trellis frame, light weight aluminum swing arm, and similar suspension system as well. Duke 390 is developed by Bajaj and will be manufactured at Chakan manufacturing plant of Bajaj. Duke 390 will cater to Indian market and it will also be exported to other nations from India. KTM Duke 390 will be most powerful and fastest bike manufactured in India. KTM Duke 390 pictures are not out yet but it will be similar to Duke 200 in design and looks. Speculations are that Duke 390 will be unveiled at EICMA (Milan Motorcycle Show) 2012 which will be held this November.
KTM Duke 390 is expected to go on sale by mid of year 2013. Bajaj has always been one step ahead from its competitors be in terms of technology or styling. Bajaj and KTM are fulfilling the promise of launching a new bike every year. We might also see a Pulsar based on KTM Duke 390. Pricing of KTM Duke 390 will be very affordable as it will be manufactured in India. KTM Duke 390 price in india is expected to be around Rs. 1,80,000 to 2,00,000. This low pricing with adequate power and good looks will give huge advantage to KTM and Bajaj as there are very less competitors in this segment. KTM Duke 390 full specifications are not known yet but it will be a complete package for those love to rev hard and like speed. Honda recently launched Honda Dream Yuga and has sold more than 1 lakh units since its launch.
