Kawasaki is a Japanese motorcycle brand which specializes in sports and super bike segment. Kawasaki bikes are manufactured at plants in Japan, USA, Philippines and Thailand. One of the most successful products of Kawasaki is Ninja series bikes. Ninja currently has several variants like Kawasaki Ninja 250 R, Kawasaki Ninja 400 R, Kawasaki Ninja 500 R and Kawasaki Ninja 650 R. Future launch from Kawasaki will be Ninja 300R which is expected to be launched in 2013.
Currently Indian sports biking segment is dominated by 150 CC, 200 CC and 250 CC bikes. Latest entrant in sports segment in Indian market will be Kawasaki Ninja 300R. Kawasaki currently sells Kawasaki Ninja 250 R and Kawasaki Ninja 650 R through network of Bajaj dealers. Kawasaki Ninja 300R features a 296 CC, liquid cooled, parallel twin cylinder, fuel injected engine which produces peak power of 39 BHP at 11, 000 rpm and produces peak torque of 29 Nm at 10,000 rpm. This 296 CC engine is mated with a 6 - speed manual gear box. Braking duties in Ninja 300R is performed by 290 mm disc brakes in front and 220 mm disc brake at rear, these brakes are combined with ABS (Anti - Lock Braking System) which ensures excellent handling and safe riding. Frame of Ninja 300R is similar to bigger Ninja 650R, frame of this bike is diamond – type unit.
The Kawasaki Ninja 300 R features 110 / 70 R 17 tyre in front and 140 / 17 R 17 tyre which provides excellent grip on tarmac. Ninja 300R has some new upgrades like an all new Instrument cluster which is a combo of analog and digital, it is equipped with analog tachometer and every other read out is digital. A LCD screen is also present which has fuel gauge read out, trip meter read out, economy mode indicator and also features a clock read out. Fuel tank capacity of Ninja 300 R is 17 – liter which is an advantage for long distance tourers . Kawasaki Ninja 300R pictures have been unveiled and bike looks very promising. Kawasaki Ninja 300R is available in 3 different paint schemes that is green, red and white. Kawasaki Ninja 300R price is not out yet but speculations are that it will cost around Rs. 300,000 on the road, although pricing is on higher side but performance wise it is second to none in this segment. Yamaha bikes launched Yamaha Ray in colorful models with strength to take rural and urban roads.
