Volvo V40 Cross Country to Launch in India by 2013 (Retitle)

Volvo Car Corporation has unveiled the latest Volvo V40 crossover at the Paris Auto Expo. Now, the Indian arm of manufacturer, Volvo India is planning to bring this vehicle in India with some alterations and add on features according to Indian conditions. The company is planning to launch it at a price tag around Rs. 23 lakh to Rs. 27 lakh and it is expected to come in the second quarter of 2013. With this price tag, the vehicle will compete with Mercedes Benz B-Class, BMW X1, Audi Q3 and other vehicles in the compact SUV segment. This diesel car is probably the most stylish car designed by Volvo. The vehicle is expected to come with features such as impressive safety technology, and various other luxury features. It seems that the compact luxury car segment in India is about to heat up in India with the launch of world class V40 crossover from Volvo.

You can expect features such as Bluetooth, wireless music playing Hands-free free communication and many other luxurious features. It is also fitted with start/stop button and the most important feature would be the Auto-braking technology along with world’s first pedestrian Airbags. Perhaps it is the only vehicle of its class that comes with the pedestrian airbag technology. This vehicle comes with style and elegance that retains the V40 stylishness. The vehicle comes with 2.0 liter D4 turbo diesel engine that makes a maximum power of about 177bhp and produces torque power of about 400Nm. This vehicle takes just about 8.2 seconds to reach a 98 Kmph speed. Thus, the acceleration of Volvo V40 is simply the best of its class. The company is promoting this vehicle to be a fuel efficient vehicle that would definitely attract the Indian markets.

The Volvo V40 will be available with manual and automatic transmission gearbox. Another variant of this model will be coming with 2.0 liter D3 engine that is expected to make 150 Bhp of maximum power and 350 Nm of maximum torque. However, both the vehicles are diesel engines and hence it would be good for Indian markets as the cost of running will be less with diesel engines. When it comes to mileage, the vehicle is expected to deliver a mileage of about 22 Kmpl, which is superior among all Volvo cars. At this point of time, there is no information regarding the Volvo V40 price as the company is yet to announce its exact price for Indian markets. The features and specifications of Indian version of V40 are expected to be same as international version but there will be minor changes.
