Blackberry Torch 9860 A Good Featured Touchscreen Mobile from RIM

With all new Blackberry Torch 9860, Blackberry made even those to change their beliefs to noteworthy who feel that all Blackberry mobiles are uninteresting. This handset is one of the thinnest BlackBerry sets has been launched long back. The device is equipped with BlackBerry's latest software update, OS 7 with liquid graphics - responsible for the slick simulations and smooth navigation.

The Torch 9860 is BlackBerry's 3rd effort to manufacture a complete – touch sensitive display featured handset after the not so successful Storm series. The Blackberry Torch 9860 features a colorful, 3.7 - inch capacitive touchscreen for superior response. Below the screen lies the optical track - pad together with the usual BlackBerry buttons - answer, menu, back and end/power. On the very top is located a button for locking your screen while the volume controller and a convenience key is on the right side. This touchscreen phone has excellent build quality with a metal back cover. The smooth forward-facing, silver metallic edge and white backlit buttons give an impression of being an elegant and useful handset to the Torch. The hardware of the phone is fitted with a 1.2 GHz processor, 768 MB RAM and 2.5 GB of internal memory which is expandable up to 32 GB via micro SD external card slot. Torch 9860 is supportive of 3G - services, Wi-Fi internet connectivity and Bluetooth. Although it lacks the NFC support which is existent on the Bold 9900 and even on the Curve 9360, the hardware specifications appear out-of-date in contrast with the latest Android software being provided in the same price structure.

Moreover the Blackberry Torch 9860 comes with many features, it comprises a flexible application menu - modifiable to display one or multiple rows of icons. In picture mode, the keys of the virtual keyboard may be problematic for some due to the space between the keys, which makes us hit the neighboring keys again and again. Now we can click decent Blackberry Torch 9860 pictures using its rear – facing 5 MP Autofocus camera LED – Flash enabled in daylight and indoors. Although the lens is not having many settings or effects, it still proves to be a good one among the 5 MP lenses we've seen. The phone also features an imposing 720 pixels HD video recording with good detail, though video can only be recorded in the restricted 3gp format. The Blackberry Torch 9860 price in India is Rs. 20000 which may seem an exciting deal for most. HTC company has announced one more android phone HTC X with touchscreen features.
