With the fuel prices reaching sky high limit, Maruti India has decided to launch its Maruti Alto 800 on the occasion of Diwali in the coming year. Maruti India claims that Maruti Alto 800 will deliver greater fuel efficiency as compared to the current Alto on the cost of its increased price value. The Maruti Alto has embedded in itself various technological advancements in the form of an upgraded engine that provides higher fuel efficiency.
Though the company officials have not revealed much about the Maruti Alto 800 features, some of the details are available. The Maruti Alto 800 price may vary from Rs. 2,75,000 - Rs. 3,25,000. The Maruti Alto 800 models will be available in 3 variants as follows- Maruti Alto Standard(Rs. 2,75,000), Maruti Alto LX(Rs 3,00,000), Maruti Alto LXi(Rs. 3,25,000). The critical thing with Maruti Alto 800 is that all the models will be launched in the petrol car variant only and it may affect its sales in the market.
The Maruti Alto 800 features make it a leader in its class. The new upgraded and sophisticated engine is supposed to deliver a maximum power of 47 bhp@6200rpm and a maximum torque of 62nm@3000 rpm. It has a kerb weight of 690 kg and a fuel tank with a capacity of 36 litres. Maruti Alto 800 average, which is considered to be its USP is expected to deliver a mileage of around 18-21 kmpl depending upon the road conditions and the driving environment.
Having a first look at Maruti Alto 800 pictures it seems that Maruti India has done a lot of research work on previous Alto versions and is clearly depicted in the current Maruti Alto 800 design. The current design resembles much more of a trendy look as compared to its previous versions. Since the car has not yet been launched there is not much information about Maruti Alto 800 colors.
According to Maruti India, Maruti Alto 800 will not be affected by the fuel price hike since the new engine will provide a better fuel economy as compared to its current versions. As we all know that Maruti Alto has always been the leader in its segment from the time it first originated. But with the intense competition in the market and rising petrol prices and always climbing interest rates, it will be a great challenge for Maruti India to capture the small car segment and also to accelerate its overall sales percentage. If we see from the eyes of Maruti India ,Maruti Alto 800 car will be a question of prestige for them, it is a question of their stake in the market and with a huge risk of still relying on petrol variant while its counterparts concentrating more on the diesel variants.
