Audi Q3 Launched Without Much Noise

The German luxury car manufacturer launched the compact luxury SUV; the Audi Q3 in the Indian car segment quietly. The vehicle was first showcased at the Auto Expo in January 2012 and this is the most awaited luxury SUV to hit the Indian market. The Audi Q3 is the first car of the segment that has a Quattro drive train system incorporated in it. They are going to roll out only 500 units of Audi Q3 in the initial phase. The Q3 already was in news and the tussle between Audi Q3 and BMW X1 initiated well before the launch of these two cars. The baby SUV; Audi Q3 is now available at all the 19 Audi dealerships present in various Indian cities.


The Audi Q3 compact luxury SUV has a powerful and efficient engine of 2.0 TDI quattro version which is capable of delivering 177 hp. The Audi Q3 price starts at Rs. 26, 21,000 onwards (Ex-showroom Maharashtra) for the base variant and is Rs. 31,49,000 onwards (Ex-showroom Maharashtra) for the top end variant of the vehicle. Michael Perschke, the Head of Audi India reported at the time of launch of Audi Q3 that this was a part of the top-down strategy which the company has made for India. The vehicle is capable to create a success story for the Audi India with true luxury SUV features. Audi has now ventured into the new segment in India with the launch of Audi Q3. He further added that the recent Audi Q3 reviews give the confidence to the manufacturer that the vehicle will repeat the success of the other Audi cars available in India and Audi unveils Jinlong Yufeng Q3 Concept in China.


The Q3 is a sporty, efficient and versatile urban vehicle designed for the young customers of India. Audi launches Q3 in India at Rs 26.21 lakh. The car has safety features like electronic stabilisation program (ESP), Space-saving spare wheel, First aid kit and warning triangle, Car jack, Full size airbag, Side airbags at front and rear, with head airbag, Electronic vehicle immobilization device and ISOFIX child seat mounting. The exterior of the car has an acoustic windscreen with grey tinted strip, Light / rain sensor along with Headlight washers, Xenon Plus and LED Rear Lights. The interior of the vehicle is of walnut balsamic brown color. Audi India had a sale of 450 cars in May 2012 with a growth of 10 percent in comparison to the same period of 2011. The company is planning to expand the market network by increasing the dealership network to 25 from the existing 19.
