Tata Nano takes a left hand drive for overseas market

The very popular and trendy low cost small hatch back Tata Nano has sold more than 10,000 vehicles last month. Tata Motor group is thrilled with this achievement and have announced that they will be developing a left hand drive of this adorable small car. Once this left hand drive version is developed, the company can launch this hatchback car in all the global markets across the world. Presently, Tata Nano is being sold in the car markets of Sri Lanka, Nepal, Bangladesh and India as these countries support the right hand drive option. The Tata Nano price in India the Indian market is starting at Rs. 1.27 lakh, ex-showroom New Delhi. This small hatch back is also expected to be launched in a hybrid variant and also a diesel car version for the Indian market in the coming years.

The exteriors of this small hatch are stylish with a smaller sweeping down front fascia, which houses the company’s emblem. The head lamp cluster is integrated with clear lens head lamps and the high end version of this hatch is fitted with a pair of fog lamps in the front bumper as can be seen in the Tata Nano pictures. The engine of this hatch back is an MPFI petrol motor capable of displacing 624cc that can churn out a maximum power of 38 Ps along with 51 Nm of torque. It has 2 cylinders and 4-speed manual transmission gear box with a front wheel drive as stated in a Tata Nano review. This small hatch is capable of giving a remarkable mileage in the range of 22 Kmpl to 26 Kmpl and can attain a top speed 105 Kmph, which is quite impressive. In the meantime, Indian car market is going to be busy with the launches of Tata Safari Storme, Chevrolet Captiva, Volkswagen Jetta and the MPV Maruti Ertiga that are scheduled in this month. I recently discussed about Seven-seater 2012 Mitsubishi Outlander launched and Renault Fluence E4 D unwrapped at Rs.15.20 lakh.
