Renault Duster- the wait grows longer, the SUV to now roll out in October

French car maker Renault, who has a manufacturing facility at Oragadam in Chennai, will be exporting their SUV called as the Renault Duster to the car market of United Kingdom from the early next year. This Renault Duster will be re-named as the Renault Dacia in the British automobile market. This Sports Utility Vehicle was first showcased in the Indian Automobile Expo held in New Delhi earlier this year.

This is also one of the biggest launches from the French company, Renault for the Indian car market. This SUV is expected to be positioned in the compact SUV segment and will take on all the contenders in that section. It was expected to be launched in the middle of this year, but then is now delayed and will be launched in the country’s domestic car market by October, 2012. The actual reason for the delay of this SUV is unknown, but it is speculated that the company wants to increase their dealerships across the country before launching it. The Renault Duster price is estimated to be in the range of Rs. 9.00 lakh, but the confirmed price will only be disclosed closer to the official launch of this SUV.

The Renault Duster pictures display the rugged and masculine front fa├žade with a broad front grille complete with a dazzling head light cluster. According to a Renault Duster review, this SUV is expected to be offered in both petrol and diesel versions by the company. The petrol car engine of this hefty SUV is expected to be a 1.6 liter motor, while the diesel version will sport a 1.5 liter K9K turbo diesel engine. The Renault Duster is going to be a 5-seater SUV and the company has a lot of expectations from it in terms of sales across the Indian automobile market. The approaching weeks will witness the launch of upcoming cars like – Maruti Ertiga, Chevrolet Captiva, Tata Safari Storme and Volkswagen Jetta. i have recently shared toyota etios and liva hit south african shores.
