Maruti A-star hatch to evolve as a sedan

One of India’s biggest automobile makers, Maruti India is now planning to launch their zippy hatch back Maruti A-star with a full fledged boot and make it into a sedan to squeeze it between their Maruti Swift Dzire and their premium Maruti SX4. It is expected that this hatchback will be launched in the European markets first in the coming year and then will be brought to the Indian car market. The company has a very good name in terms of reliability and fuel efficiency for all its vehicles across the country and this sedan is also expected to be on the same lines. The present Maruti A-star price is starting at Rs. 3.76 lakh, ex-showroom price of New Delhi.

This pretty hatchback car is available in four manual trims and an automatic version as well for the customers to choose from. The bonnet of this hatchback is compact yet very stylish with an extended head lamp cluster and a big front grille as can be seen in the Maruti A-star pictures. The body colored outside rear view mirrors, door handles, bumpers and a high mounted brake light at the rear end makes this hatchback car look vivacious and dynamic.

As stated in a Maruti A-star review, this hatchback is available only in a petrol car variant as of now with 3 cylinders and a 5-speed manual transmission gearbox. It is also available with a 4-speed automatic transmission car at a higher cost, but it is said to be low in terms of mileage. The engine is capable of displacing 998cc with a power of 67 Ps and 90 Nm of torque and can generate a mileage in the range of 17 to 19 Kmpl, which is quite impressive. In the meanwhile, the Indian car market is eagerly awaiting the upcoming vehicle launches of Maruti Ertiga, Volkswagen Jetta, Chevrolet Captiva and the well-built Tata Safari Storme in the coming months. I recently shared that Volkswagen Jetta petrol trim launch imminent and known and lesser known facts about car care.
