Honda Motorcycles Expanding its research wing in India

Honda is one of the best nondomestic automobile company which has been manufacturing bikes for India. A little while back, the company was in collaboration with Hero MotoCorp and this collaboration was called Hero Honda who were manufacturing two wheelers in India and were seen as one of the most successful company in this industry. After Honda Motorcycle ended its 30 years long tie-up with Hero MotoCorp, the company is now planning to make an entry into the topmost sector of the two-wheeler market of the country. The final process of ending the collaboration between the two market giants is under progress after which both the companies will further plan their individual strategies to strengthen their hold in the Indian market.

After separation and breaking of this partnership, the Hero MotoCorp developed its individual R&D capability. At the same time now Honda is expanding and strengthening its foothold in India by developing a R&D in India. According to the available reports from Honda, the company is investing around 700 crore rupees to develop this R&D base. As per the company aims, the company is going to double the number of R&D engineers. The R&D engineers will have the technological expertise from minor model changes to styling and design, prototype development, testing & validation and component development with vendor to offer products faster at lower cost.

Seeing the efforts of the company and the number of determined steps it is taking keeping the Indian market and the Indian buyer in mind, it would not be a surprise if Honda strikes it big. Currently the Honda R&D India Private Limited is located at the rented IFFCO chowk in gurgaon and the company is planning to shift to the HMSI plant. The Honda Dio, Honda Activa, Honda unicorn and Honda shine are few talked about models and well accepted models from Honda. I recently shared that Honda CBR 150R launched in India and Vespa Scooter to be launched on 26th April.
