Skoda Citigo will not show up at 2012 Auto Expo

Skoda has come up with a new small car- Skoda Citigo which shares the platform of its cousin Volkswagen Up. The rumours were rife that the carmaker was planning to release this new small car in India in the 2012 auto expo. But if reports are to believed there is a little change of plans and the news is that Skoda Citigo might not make it for 2012 auto expo. Recently NDTV aired a report where Skoda’s top executive to Siddharth Vinayak Patankar gave this information. But many are viewing this as a marketing strategy of Skoda team to wait for the Volkswagen small car to be launched first somewhere in the mid of 2013 and depending upon its reviews in the Indian market, Skoda will finalize the future of Citigo on Indian roads. Till then the Skoda fans have to wait for this new small car.

Skoda’s Citigo is somewhat similar to the Skoda’s Fabia in terms of exterior hatchback. While the powering of Citigo is the same as Volkswagen’s Up with 1.0 lit 3 cylinder engine (petrol) and maximum power of 59 Bhp, 74 Nm peak torque. This might make few Skoda followers unhappy as their demand for small car with more fuel efficiency. But still its going to give a tough competition to its rivals like Hyundai i10, Maruti A star. But the real deciding factor will be the Skoda Citigo Price

But if we the Skoda Citigo Review are to be believed this  car is very cleverly designed, with proportionate interiors  with well laid out seating arrangement which gives ample space for a comfortable ride for four passengers. So, on the whole it promises to be an ideal family car.The version of Skoda Citigo that is for the UK audience is loaded with remarkable features  but according to the trade pundits  it is highly unlikely that this version will ever make its way to India.
