Renault Modus sneaked in Chennai

Renault,the French car maker is getting more combative day by day. After launching Renault Fluence sedan and Koleos SUV, now this auto giant is planning to bring in a small car in India aiming towards volume segment. As its is seen now a days almost all automakers like ford, Nissan , Hyundai have their plant in Chennai. so its not unusual for testing mules of their cars. Following this series now Renault is spotted while test mule of its new hatchback Renault Modus on Chennai roads. Renault modus price tag is expected to be put competitively ,as this segment in which Mini Modus is approaching, is a huge potential to generate great volumes.

Modus small car seems to sit in same category of cars with smaller MUV like spacing and is likely to give competition to Honda jazz, Ford Figo and Hyundai i20. The new Renault Modus is expected to be available in diesel variant along with conventional petrol version. The petrol variant is housed with 1.2 liter 16-valve petrol engine which can churn out 75 bhp a 104 Nm of peak torque, and the diesel motor puts out 88 bhp with 160 Nm of torque.

Modus is obtainable in two type- the Modus and Grand Modus, on one hand where Modus is a small car, on other hand Grand Modus is bit longer car with longer boot. Adding to this the car is ornamented with many wonderful features. Airbags on both drivers and passengers side could be an offer. Apart from this Renault is likely to come with some safety features like ABS, as most of the cars in this segment now a days are offering it. Automatic headlights ,Automatic climate control and and wipers could be another specifications of car to attract customers .Like other cars, the rear seats can be folded to provide more space. Another features is the ‘Stay Put’ system which lets the base of the front passenger’s seat to flip up and reveal a storage area. The third car from Renault is expected to be showcased at 2010 auto expo. Renault modus review suggests that the car looks good enough. If someone is looking for a practical version of a small hatchback, but don't need a people carrier, then the Renault Modus could be the choice.
