Samsung unpacks the Galaxy S2 and Galaxy Tab II
Samsung Electronics launched two new devices in to the mobile phone market called Galaxy S2 and Galaxy Tab II. The devices were announced in 2011 February and are expected to be launched by the end of 1st quarter of 2011.
Both the devices are loaded with heavy features like messaging, browser, radio, GPS, JAVA application compatibility, document editor, image/video editor etc. The messaging options are made easier with the threaded view of the SMS and there is integration for social networking websites along with the Google search, Google Talk and Picasa.
The handset and the tablet is having a very good media player which supports various formats like MP4/DivX/XviD/WMV/H.264/H.263/ MP3/WAV/eAAC+/AC3/FLAC. The devices also contain HDMI port which helps to connect the device to a television or a computer using a HDMI cable.
Samsung Galaxy S2 is having Android version 2.3 operating system which is otherwise called to as Gingerbread whereas in the case of Samsung Galaxy Tab II, it is Android version 3.0 operating system which is better known to as Honeycomb. The processor used in SamsungGalaxy S2 is ARM Cortex-A9 with a processing speed of 1 GHz and that also will be dual core. The CPU also comprises an ORION chipset. This is just the same as that in the case of Galaxy Tab 10.1. The powerful camera is yet another specification that one must have to feel. Both the devices are having a primary camera of 8 mega pixels lens with image resolution of 3264x2448 pixels. The camera got other features like Geo-tagging, touch focus, face and smile detection, image stabilization, autofocus, LED flash etc. The video can be shot at a resolution 1080 pixels @ 30frames per second (fps). The secondary camera is also a bit of surprising factor with its 2 mega pixels lens.
The Samsung Galaxy Tab II is having a 10.1 inch size display with a resolution of 1280x800 pixels, which is WXGA TFT LCD. The Samsung Galaxy S2 is having a display of 4.3 inches screen with screen resolution of 400x800 pixels. It is having a super AMOLED display with 16 M colors. The displays used in both the devices are called Gorilla Class Display. It also got gyro scope sensor; swipe text input etc. The memory is yet another feature that this device possesses. It is having an internal memory of 16 GB along with 1GB RAM and the storage size can be expanded up to 32GB using a micros SD card.
