The much awaited Fiat Grand Punto is all set to arrive in the Indian market. The launch and public unveiling of the car is set to happen at a grand ceremony in New Delhi on the 17th of this month. Fiat India Automobiles Ltd, the joint venture between Fiat and Tata Motors, has just announced that it is all primed to launch the petrol and diesel versions of the Grande Punto, the company's mid-size hatchback. The Grande Punto is a perfect hatchback counterpart to the Linea which has already established itself among the C plus segment saloons.
Fiat motors has geared up itself for its another car Grande Punto to launch in India. The car has showcased at Frankfurt Motor Show in 2005. The car has already launched in many countries and got overwhelming response in most of the European countries. This Grande Punto is a small car which may be launch in june 2009 in India. After the Fiat Linea, Fiat has great expectations with Grande Punto. The car would hit Indian car market with its three different models- two petrol engine and one multijet diesel engine. In India, Fiat would offer 3 choices to user in terms of engine- 1.2L petrol engine produces 65PS power, a 1.4L petrol engine delivers 77PS power and a 1.3L multijet turbo diesel engine delivers 88PS of power. The car has all the safety features like like ABS and EBD, though the same cannot be said about the airbags as of now. Fiat Grande Punto is the biggest car in its segment. The car has great exterior With its desirable nose and headlight design, it looks just like a speeder in your rear view mirror. Apart from its exterior, interior is also very roomy as Luggage compartment is big enough for the B segment car, with 275 liters capacity. Most probably, Fiat Grande Punto would be roll out from the Ranjangaon facility of Fiat near Pune. The car would price between 5 to 7 lakhs in Indian car market. The car will compete with Maruti Swift, Hyundai Getz, Hyundai i20 and Chevrolet Aveo UV-A.
